What is Lifestyle Photography?
Lifestyle photography is a more natural way of photographing portraits, which captures a lot of movement and interaction, rather than traditional stiff poses. I love that lifestyle photography can capture the essence of someone and highlights connection, emotion and relationships – not everyone will be looking at the camera in every picture, but genuine smiles and laughter will shine through the photographs. If you’re looking for photos that tell the story of your family, contact me to get more information about my sessions!

When is the best time to get photos taken?
…Right now! You don’t need to wait until you “get in shape” or change anything about yourself. You are perfect as you are right now, and you deserve to have beautiful memories of yourself and your family in this season of life! Life moves quickly, especially once you have kids, and one day you will want to look back at this chapter of your life and have photographs to share with your children and grandchildren.
Spring and Fall are popular seasons to have family portraits taken due to the Spring blooms and picturesque Autumn foliage they bring, but photos are available year round! Lush green summers and snowy winters also offer scenic backdrops, and we can always move a photo session inside if the weather is not cooperating.

What if I missed the “newborn window” for photos?
The ideal window for newborn portraits is 7-14 days old, so baby is still tiny and sleepy and has the newborn “scrunch.” But if your baby is older than that and you are just looking into photography now, that’s totally fine! I understand the first couple weeks of newborn life can be a blur, and scheduling a photo session may not be at the top of your list when you are newly postpartum. We’ll document your baby as they are right now, so you can have memories of this stage to cherish for years to come!
